Kali`s Vibe

Kali and her partner of three years, Crystal, seem the perfect couple: beautiful, talented, and very much in love.

But look again, and it’s clear that social worker Kali and her poet girlfriend are doing a lot of talking but not much listening. Once a fawning fan catches Crystal’s eye, the relationship falters.

This gives director, Shari Carpenter, a chance to poke some fun at lesbian dating rituals, ranging from blind dates to sport sex.

It also lets her explore Kali’s growing attraction to Reese, a co-worker who can’t believe the stunning Kali’s not falling in line for a roll in the sheets.

The two conduct a delicate and humorous pas de deux that lasts just long enough for Crystal to come back into the picture.

Ultimately, Kali’s forced to choose between the heterosexual security that Reese brings and the passion of Crystal’s lesbian poetry.
